PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Advocacy + Opportunity: Advancing the Carolinas Together

It is a tremendous honor to serve as President of the Mortgage Bankers Association of the Carolinas (MBAC) for the 2025–2026 term. I am deeply grateful for the trust and support of our members, our Board, and everyone who continues to champion MBAC’s mission and purpose.

As we move forward, I want to reaffirm our core mission — to unite mortgage professionals, create value for our membership through education, legislative representation, and communication, and to promote the highest ethical standards across North and South Carolina.

My vision for the coming year centers on two guiding principles: Advocacy and Opportunity.

Advocacy that Drives Opportunity

We will continue to strengthen our relationships with legislators in both North and South Carolina to ensure housing and lending policies remain fair, sound, and forward-looking. MBAC will remain the trusted voice of our industry — representing both our members and the communities we serve.

We will also ensure that our advocacy efforts translate into real, tangible results. From the Trigger Lead Bill to the ongoing work in South Carolina to modernize outdated high-cost loan thresholds, our legislative engagement creates meaningful outcomes for both members and consumers.

Equally important, we will continue encouraging greater member involvement — inviting mortgage bankers, brokers, and affiliates to take part in committees, events, and advocacy initiatives. Expanding outreach to independent brokers, local associations, and community partners will strengthen our collective voice and broaden our impact.

Education and Engagement as Opportunities

We will continue to evolve our seminars and professional development programs to meet the needs of today’s mortgage industry. From emerging technologies like AI to changing compliance landscapes and market dynamics, our goal is to help members stay informed, competitive, and prepared.

Professional growth and leadership development will remain at the center of MBAC’s value to its members. We will also strengthen our communication channels — through our website, social media, and direct outreach — ensuring that members have timely access to the information that matters most.

And as always, ethics and professionalism will remain the foundation of our work. Integrity is not only our duty — it is what sets us apart.

Building Unity Through Outreach and Inclusion

MBAC exists to unite the mortgage banking community across the Carolinas — and that unifying role matters now more than ever. We will continue building bridges between local and regional associations, creating new pathways for engagement and inclusion.

Through outreach, community partnerships, and consumer education, we will highlight the positive role our members play in helping families achieve the dream of homeownership.

My commitment to our members and partners is simple: to lead with energy, transparency, and collaboration. Together, we can make 2025–2026 a year defined by progress, positivity, and possibility.

Thank you for your continued dedication to advancing our industry and serving the people and communities of the Carolinas. I am excited for what lies ahead — and proud to serve alongside you.

Warm regards,
