Letter from the President
Since 1955, the Mortgage Bankers Association of the Carolinas has been proud to represent the Carolinas as an invaluable resource to the mortgage lending industry. For 57 years, the MBAC membership has provided industry leadership through education, legislation, communication and professional development.
As an approved NMLS education provider, MBAC is proud to offer courses necessary for the continual development of our members. Given the amount of change our industry has faced over the past few years, we find it imperative to keep our membership educated and informed. While education continues to remain a hot topic nationally, our Education Committee and qualified course instructors are proud to offer continuing education opportunities to our membership as an added benefit to membership. Through the efforts of our NC and SC Legislative committees, state lobbyists and direct communication with membership, MBAC remains at the forefront of any and all necessary legislative issues at the local and state levels. Our close association and engagement with MBA keeps us in tune with national legislative issues. Our involvement in the legislative process plays a vital role for not only our industry but also the consumer base which we serve. Professional development for MBAC membership is not only a factor at the state level but also at the local level. There are currently thirteen local associations throughout the Carolinas representing our industry in their individual communities. The local associations are a tremendous asset to each community. These local associations create awareness for our industry through seminars, scholarships, legislative awareness and networking opportunities. Our professional development does not end there! There are also countless opportunities for development through the various speakers, conferences and meetings that take place throughout each year. Whether you are directly involved in mortgage lending through one of the various channels or support our industry as an affiliate provider, I would encourage you to take some time to learn more about our association, our membership and what we represent. We are an association of like-minded professionals, committed to the continuing excellence of our industry. Through various pieces of the mortgage lending process, our association is built on members dedicated to serving the consumer.
