Letter from the President
Through our dedicated members, The Mortgage Bankers Association of the Carolinas is currently celebrating 56 years of service to our local communities. The MBAC is far from your ordinary professional trade association. Our members are driven by purpose. Throughout the years, it has been amazing to see all the ways in which the Carolinas have been positively impacted through our members’ efforts in local charitable fundraisers, awarding college scholarships, performing hundreds of hours of community service, local community seminars…the list goes on and on.
The MBAC also serves as a conduit for many of the activities needed to support our members at the regional and national levels. To its members, the MBAC is a valuable resource; an extension of their businesses offering vital and timely information on industry changes, providing opportunities for networking and sharing of best practices and serve as a medium through which to meet integral industry vendors. In cooperation with our local associations, the MBAC in recent years has expanded its resources to offer certified courses for continuing education along with numerous seminars, conferences and webinars to ensure that our members are properly equipped to face today’s mortgage banking world.
Over the last several years, we have witnessed tremendous opportunities and challenges brought about by unprecedented regulatory and legislative changes. Our challenge is to stay well informed and our opportunity is to play a key role in shaping the future of our industry. The MBAC’s involvement in the legislative process at the state and national level is more robust than ever. Our commitment is to champion strong consumer advocacy while avoiding legislative and regulatory changes that result in unintended consequences for the consumer and industry alike.

We are industry professionals who desire to give back to our communities while being a part of shaping the future of the ever changing mortgage banking industry.
